Oh yes

Totally finish it. I love what you have so far. I love the break with the hi hats that goes right into that powerful kick and melody. Brilliant. The kick will probably have to be turned down a fair amount though, just so your bass doesnt overpower the mix. Work hard on the mix, and this will be excellent.

Natedog102 responds:

OK, thanks for the advice man!

Pretty Good

The percussion is a bit loud for my taste though. And the melody gets a tad repetitive and annoying. But you layered enough harmony over it to keep me listening. I think a better mix would make this even better.

Young-Chesta responds:

yea i know its a bit repetitive and im thinking about making a remix in a while but thanks for the review

Not bad

The kick was a bit weak in my opinion, maybe im just used to insanely overdriven kick, but i think this one could use a bit more power. Its an alright song, the melody gets a bit annoying after a while. But itd do well in a flash.

Very original

That delayed synth was clipping a bit i think, maybe take that down a notch. Pretty good tune though, I like the skittery melodies.

Work Harder

Nothing that you make in five minutes is going to be quality enough to share with others, this is no exception. It sounds like you sequenced some random drumbeats and added a few synth presets. Spend more time on your audio and make it into a dynamic song rather then a few minutes of hack work.

Not Bad

Sounded a bit more funk then jazz to me, I would've preferred a swing beat. Very good for being done in reason however. Nice work.

Fredheadzooka responds:

Thanks. By "jazz" I really meant "smooth jazz", but hey! Funk works too. Thanks for the review, man. I appreciate it.

Could be improved a bit

Make sure your guitar is in tune, a few of those power chords "wobbled", unless this was intentional. A more diverse drum loop could help the song, but it sounds like youre more of a guitar guy. Maybe find a way to use less distortion with the same amount of power? It interferes with the overall piece a bit. The tapping/hammers are cool sounding, though could be cleaned up a bit. Spend a bit more time on the composition process, if you think youre done in five minutes, take five more and change something, then change something else. Same with the recording process, if something doesnt match your expectations for recording, punch in and fix it. With some refining, you have potential.

Yours,
R.

darkkloud responds:

well, thanks for the help tips.unfortunatley i only had that one loop for drums available because my drum synthesisers dont work, so i had to use my pedals drum machine.as well as the wobbly sound of the power cords was intentional, it was a slight amount of vibrato with some phaser. this was mearly a rough draft anyways.but i do apreciate the review.

Whoa

The dissonant piano was very cool. Perhaps add more complexity to the noise? I dunno though, I like it how it is. Good work.

Badge responds:

Heh, thanks

Good stuff

Vocals really got me nodding my head. Well done in that regard, and the entire tune.

Very Unique.

The ska-ish riffs in the beginning were sweet. Not to mention the ripping guitar solo, and some behind the nut stuff i think? And of course the farting was a plus. Excellent job.

cat-bastards responds:

Thanks! >:(
